Throw the dice and play your hand

A puppet on a string

You are numbed by my controlling

The finest mask is a smile

The innocence of a child belies what hides beneath

The serpent coils and seethes inside your mind

Breeding the masses of soldiers for battle

They mindlessly follow, their souls dead and hollow

Read the script and say your lines

In a pre-determined state of mind

You are programmed to believe

This dystopia has you deceived

The stage is set, begin the show

Our sweet duet ‘midst tales of woe

And on we act ‘till curtain falls

The show goes on ‘till the end of it all

Marching to the beat of drums through this journey of life

Dancing to the same old song, a melody for all time

And the wheel is turning, endless clockwork chimes

We are forever learning what we are prescribed to survive
